Two stepper motor’s and a belt, a couple laser-cut pieces and a nice stepper driver and the ‘Atom’ plotter was born. Inspired by Dan Royers great Makelangelo this build went through a great number of iterations before deciding on the design. The installation is relative flexible and easy to install on any flat surface using some Ikea Suction caps. Vector graphics can be generated from bitmaps through some custom rasterizing script or directly exported from illustrator. The G-code is then generated and send over serial to the Arduino carrying the stepper drivers.
